When my carpool mom days ended, I was so excited to get back to being an artist. om a whim, or inspiration, I purchased a book on Encaustic painting. I learned that encaustic is an ancient technique of painting with layers of tinted wax mixed with damar resin. As a beekeeper the idea of painting with beeswax and a blow torch thrilled me! The tactical and organic aspects of working with wax are just so wonderful and unpredictable.
